You need a workspace and Editor or Vault admin access to the vault you will use. Your personal vault is a good place to try this without changing shared company knowledge.
1

Open your workspace

Sign in. If you received an invitation, open that link and use the invited email address. Otherwise, create a Solo or Teams workspace and complete Checkout. See accounts and invitations.
2

Choose a vault

Open Knowledge and use the Vault selector. Choose your personal vault for private working knowledge or Company for information your organization should share.A new self-serve workspace starts empty. If you want the Northern Logic Wiki structure, apply its template before adding files: templates require an empty vault. You can also start with a blank vault.
3

Create a file

Choose + File → New, enter first-note.md, choose its location, and create it. Open Edit and add a heading and a few useful facts.
4

Save and find it

Select Save. Wait for saving to finish, then reopen the page to check the saved text. Open Search, select the personal vault if you used it, and search for a distinctive phrase from your note.

Saving creates a revision. Opening Activity shows the page’s paper trail. Editing is explicit: unsaved text is not a completed cloud revision.

Check your result

You can reopen your saved page and find a distinctive sentence in Search. If it is in Personal, select that vault explicitly. If Save is unavailable, check your role. Continue learning: Get your first useful AI answer.
