Content types - Northern Logic Knowledge

Use the kind of content that matches what you want to keep or reuse. A vault chooses who can access the knowledge; the choices below describe what you store. For Company, Team, and Personal, see Core concepts.

A useful progression

A Follow-up is a work item, not an automatic reminder. A skill is reusable instruction, not a hosted worker. These steps require people or your chosen tool to carry them out.

Keep the authoritative copy clear

Knowledge pages are Markdown files. Profiles and Follow-ups are separate product records and are not part of normal vault sync or ZIP export. A library skill copied into a vault becomes a separate copy; decide which one you maintain and redistribute changes deliberately. Next: Create a reusable skill or Keep knowledge useful.

Three places a skill can live

A vault’s `skills/` folder	Markdown instructions available with that vault, including conversion enhancement	Copying creates independent vault files; it does not install a skill in every AI tool.
Your AI tool’s skill directory	Instructions that the tool can discover and execute	Install through the tool’s supported mechanism; Northern Logic does not run the skill.
