# Company Voice

> Point agents to approved guidance for tone, terminology, claims, and examples.

Company Voice connects approved shared-vault pages to your workspace's agent
orientation. Workspace owners and admins manage these pointers in
**Personalization → Company**.

## Set up company guidance

1. Write and review the guidance as ordinary pages in Company or an appropriate
   team vault.
2. Open **Personalization → Company**.
3. For **Tone**, **Terms**, and **Prohibited claims**, choose the vault and then
   the page.
4. Add up to five **Examples** of approved output.
5. Select **Save**.

Choosing a vault without a page is an incomplete selection. Choose the page or
explicitly choose **None** to clear that pointer.

## What to put in the pages

| Page | Useful contents |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Tone | Audience, voice, preferred level of detail, and examples of phrasing. |
| Terms | Product names, approved terminology, and terms to avoid. |
| Prohibited claims | Claims that must not appear, with safer alternatives or evidence requirements. |
| Examples | Approved pieces that illustrate the intended output. |

These are normal knowledge pages with access control and revision history. Edit
the page to improve the guidance rather than pasting a second copy into a
private profile form.

## How agents use it

`nlkb orient` and MCP `orient` include the configured guidance that the
connection is allowed to read. The agent then opens those pages and follows
them. A pointer does not grant access to the referenced vault, so check the
agent connection's grants if guidance is missing.

Company Voice does not execute a model, automatically rewrite documents, or
guarantee that a third-party tool follows every instruction. Review outputs
before using them externally.

For personal working preferences, use
[Personalization → You](/collaboration/personalization).

## Try it in a real workflow

[Write in your company’s voice](/tutorials/company-writing) takes you from
approved guidance to a reviewed client-update draft.
